Writing

Meredith's award-winning shows, songs, and sketches have been shared on stage and online.

MUSICALS

Meredith is a musical theatre songwriter and librettist. She is an active member of the Advanced BMI Musical Theatre Workshop. Her work with collaborator Utsav Bhargava has been recognized by multiple organizations, including the Write Out Loud Song Contest (for their song "Totally Rock"), Prospect Musical Theatre Lab (where they developed their mini-musical Artifact or Artifiction), and the BMI Workshop Spotlight Showcase. She has worked on multiple pieces for the Across a Crowded Room program with the NYPL for the Performing Arts, including Guts, co-written with Denver Casado and Lisa Mongillo. Her short pieces are often performed in staged readings throughout the city, and her next full length project with Utsav Bhargava is currently in development.

STANDALONE SONGS

Meredith has written many standalone songs that have been performed online and in cabarets and variety shows throughout the city. Her original holiday songs, like "A.M.C." co-written with Jason Weisinger and "Always-Open Apple Store" co-written with Utsav Bhargava, have been performed at events including McGuire and Simon's Holiday Salon and the Ha La La music and comedy variety show. She loves continuing to collaborate with a variety of composers to write songs with specificity, heart, and (unsurprisingly!) humor.

Sketch comedY

Meredith first wrote and performed sketch comedy with her college's all-female musical and sketch comedy team, Bloomers. From there, Meredith's improv training at iO in Chicago and subsequent move to NYC led her to write and perform with a number of new sketch teams, including Good Cooks! (The Tank), The Vortex (The Magnet Theater) and Scoot Scoot (The PIT House Team). During the pandemic, The PIT's sketch comedy program went completely virtual, and Meredith and her teammates continued to write, perform, and edit digital sketches, including an all time fave, "Sillie Smilish," recorded entirely using what she could find lying around in her childhood basement. She's now a member of the Second City Conservatory where she is in the process of crafting a complete SC-style sketch comedy revue.

PARODIES

Meredith loves writing song parodies, be that with her sketch comedy teams or for hundreds of thousands of viewers on TikTok. She churned out many silly pop song parodies and musical theatre ditties during the pandemic that stirred buzz on social media, but her favorite parodies to write and perform have been for her solo show, Joy Ride, which most recently won the Audience Choice Award at the NYC Fringe Festival.
